The National Youth Congress organized the second stakeholder meeting in Tirana within the framework of the Interreg Europe YOUNGSPACE project, bringing together key actors to discuss how existing public, civic and private spaces in Albania can be transformed into more inclusive and accessible youth hubs.
The meeting focused on the Albanian good practices, which promote the idea that youth spaces should not be seen only as physical buildings, but as active ecosystems for participation, learning, creativity, wellbeing and community engagement.

Building on the project’s policy direction, the discussion highlighted the need to make better use of existing spaces such as libraries, cultural venues, coworking hubs, creative spaces and community infrastructures. Instead of waiting for new purpose-built youth centres, Albania can begin by opening, connecting and better governing the spaces that already exist.

Two potential Albanian good practices were presented such as the neighbourhood libraries of Tirana as multifunctional public spaces, and N’Zon Creative Industries as a private community-oriented creative hub. Together, these examples show how public, civic and private cooperation can support more inclusive access, youth-led programming and stronger local youth participation.

Through YOUNGSPACE, the National Youth Congress aims to contribute to a practical model where youth spaces become part of Albania’s social infrastructure, offering young people more opportunities to meet, collaborate, develop skills and take part in local democratic life.

National Youth Congress (NYC) is a youth umbrella organization – a union of youth organizations, informal groups, youth forums of political parties.
